  1. A flowering plant is a term generally used 
  2. for angiosperms, which bear flowers with 
  3. various parts, including sepals, petals, 
  4. stamens, and carpels. Sometimes the term is 
  5. used more broadly, to include both 
  6. angiosperms and gymnosperms, in which case 
  7. the cones of conifers and cycads are 
  8. referred to as `flowers'.
